Our Chef 
Our chef Rubén Pérez, a native of Gran Canaria and a great advocate of preserving the island’s culture, creates a truly different fusion of Canarian cuisine for the Cosmos restaurant in Corralejo. Rubén was introduced to the hotel and restaurant business at the age of 13 in a family-run bar in Guanarteme. Since then, he has never stopped training and learning.
After completing his training as a "bar and restaurant specialist", he took part in several municipal and national competitions, won several prizes and attended various oenology courses in Las Palmas and Barcelona. At a young age he started managing restaurants in the capital where he kept an eye on the kitchens and had the opportunity to work side by side with award-winning chefs. Thus he learned the different techniques he uses today. The last four years before coming to Fuerteventura he worked with the Sakura Group. There he absorbed the oriental cuisine (traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean), which is reflected in some of his dishes. On Fuerteventura, he looked for a restaurant where he could evolve. He changed from Sous Cheff to Cosmos in Corralejo putting his soul into every creation.
